THE BAND

Chicago based post-punk, psychedelic band, was born from a need to create music outside the margins, free form without boundaries. Strange Lounge is lyric driven- bringing art back into music.

The trio is formed by seasoned song writer and musician, Mr. Moonlight, experienced

and innovative guitarist, Don Diego, and eclectic and organic keyboardist, Sof Keys.

Creating unique and avant-garde gothic sounds brought three long time friends together that shared a passion for art, words, photography and music.

Influences vary from Velvet Underground to Nick Cave, The Doors to Soda Stereo, Danzig to Joy Division and many more.

Separately they have performed at hundreds of live venues throughout their beloved city, Chicago.

Strange lounge is looking release their first single in late 2023.

Mr. Moonlight

Song writer, Vocalist & ​Automation

Mr. Moonlight began as a writer and poet ​with an affinity for beat writers like ​Kerouac and Bukowski. Later on he ​pursued his passion by combining his ​words with music.

A veteran musician who has also ​collaborated with many artists over the ​years, he brings his unfiltered and at ​ times automatic song writing along with ​ his well trained ear to the table, helping ​shape new and intriguing sounds.

Don Diego

Composer & Guitarrist

Raw and passionate, Don Diego brings his ​hypnotic Robby Krieger & Johnny Marr ​influenced guitar pieces to the Strange ​Lounge.

Don. D’s skill for recognizing his band ​mates strengths and his ability to ​organize their ideas provides the ​structure they need to tie all the pieces ​together and create rare and unusual ​compositions. 

For over 10 years he has been playing ​with different bands around Chicago.

Sof Keys

Keys & Backup Vocals

At a young age, Sof Keys studied ballet at Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes in Mexico City, which catapulted her love for the arts.

She funded and produced NOX live, an online radio show in Chicago, featuring local latin alternative bands. During that time she had the opportunity to interview dozens of international latin alternative artist.

Sofkeys joins Strange lounge bringing her love for music- creating organic and melodic sounds playing the keyboard and as a backup vocalist.
